Sembol Construction is hiring a Design Engineer for its engineering office on the Omairah - ADNOC Offshore Project in Abu Dhabi. The engineer prepares and coordinates MEP and civil design work for the offshore project, making sure drawings and documents match the project specifications and ADNOC requirements.
What the role involves
- Prepare, review and coordinate MEP engineering drawings, layouts and design documents for the project
- Coordinate MEP designs with the civil, structural and other engineering disciplines so the designs fit together
- Check technical drawings and specifications for accuracy and compliance with project requirements
- Spot design clashes and technical discrepancies and resolve them with the project and site teams
- Prepare technical submittals, material specifications and design calculations
- Work with project managers, site engineers, consultants and subcontractors on design matters, and fold review comments back into the drawings
- Support the construction teams when design questions come up during execution
Requirements noted by the boards
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience in the UAE, with MEP design and civil construction project background
- Previous work in an engineering office, design consultancy or construction engineering environment
- Confident reading engineering drawings and handling design coordination and technical documentation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
- ADNOC civil construction project experience, offshore exposure and familiarity with UAE regulations and client specifications are preferred
