What the role involves
- Develop and put into practice logistics and supply chain strategies that match the company's objectives
- Manage the supply chain end to end, covering procurement, transportation, warehousing and distribution
- Coordinate with other departments so products flow smoothly and deliveries arrive on time
- Track performance measures and key indicators to find where the operation can improve
- Negotiate contracts and build working relationships with suppliers, vendors and logistics partners
- Make sure operations comply with local regulations and international trade requirements
- Lead and mentor the logistics and supply chain team, and use technology and data analysis to improve efficiency
Requirements noted by the boards
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or a related field; a master's degree is a plus
- At least 5 years of proven experience in logistics and supply chain management, preferably in the UAE or the wider Middle East
- Strong knowledge of supply chain software and ERP systems
- Leadership and team management skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of international shipping regulations and customs procedures
