Sembol Construction is hiring a Project Engineer for civil and MEP works on the ADNOC Al Omairah Island offshore project in Abu Dhabi. The engineer coordinates site execution across civil construction and mechanical, electrical and plumbing works, keeping the project to its drawings, specifications and ADNOC requirements.
What the role involves
- Coordinate and supervise day-to-day civil construction and MEP activities at the project site
- Make sure all works follow approved drawings, project specifications, method statements and ADNOC requirements
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders so execution runs smoothly
- Review construction drawings, technical documents, material submittals and shop drawings
- Monitor progress against the approved schedule and report delays or technical issues to the Project Manager
- Coordinate civil and MEP activities to avoid clashes and rework, and carry out site inspections with the QA/QC and HSE teams
- Support material procurement, quantity verification and resource planning, and prepare daily progress reports, inspection requests and site records
- Help resolve technical issues and site changes, and support testing, commissioning, snagging and handover
Requirements noted by the boards
- Degree or diploma in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of UAE experience as a Project Engineer on civil construction and/or MEP projects
- Oil and gas, industrial or offshore project experience is preferred, with familiarity with ADNOC project requirements, QA/QC procedures and HSE standards
- Working knowledge of construction drawings, technical specifications, method statements and inspection procedures
- Strong coordination, communication, reporting and problem-solving skills; AutoCAD, MS Office and project planning tools are an advantage
- Offshore project experience and relevant offshore safety certifications are preferred where applicable
