The nurse looks after patients day to day — monitoring their condition, giving medication and treatment as prescribed, and working with doctors and other healthcare staff on care plans. What the role involves
- Provide nursing care to patients following established protocols and standards
- Monitor patient health and record vital signs, medical history and symptoms accurately
- Give medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Work with doctors, therapists and other healthcare staff to coordinate patient care plans
- Teach patients and their families about health management and preventive care
- Keep the nursing environment clean and safe, and document care and patient progress clearly and on time
- Respond promptly to patient emergencies and help with diagnostic tests and procedures under medical supervision
Requirements noted by the boards
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or an equivalent qualification
- Valid nursing licence recognised in the UAE
- Proven experience as a Staff Nurse in a hospital or clinical setting
- Sound knowledge of nursing practice, patient care and medical procedures
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to stay professional and calm under pressure
- Confident with healthcare software and patient management systems
- Flexible for shift work including nights, weekends and holidays; fluency in English, with Arabic a plus
