Salary by segment — the part most websites hide
A single "average salary" for this job would mislead you. What you are actually offered depends mostly on the vehicle you ride or drive (delivery bike vs van) and on how you are hired — most food-delivery riders are employed by a fleet or third-party logistics partner, not by the app itself, and part of their pay is per-order incentive rather than fixed salary:
| Segment | Monthly salary | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Van and parcel delivery driver offers (new arrivals) | AED 2,500 – 3,500 / month | Documented in current Dubai advertisements reviewed Oct 2026: GulfTalent lists an FMCG delivery driver at up to AED 3,000 plus accommodation and duty meals, and a bakery delivery driver at up to AED 3,500 plus accommodation, transport and a meal; multiple employer-provided Dubai listings sit at AED 2,500–3,500 |
| Bike / food-delivery rider reported pay (fleet and app work) | AED 2,300 – 4,000 / month (average ~AED 3,361 reported) | Naukrigulf rider salaries in Dubai, based on 18 reported salaries — riders are usually hired through fleet or third-party logistics partners, and the total mixes a basic salary with per-order incentives and tips, so a quiet month pays less than a busy one |
| Market figure, all experience levels | ~AED 2,834 / month average in the UAE (Dubai ~AED 2,866); reported range AED 1,480 – 5,425 | Indeed UAE reported salaries (1.6k salaries for the UAE figure, updated Aug 2026; 1.1k salaries for Dubai, updated Oct 2026) — includes experienced drivers and higher-paid fleet roles; do not expect the top of the range as a first offer |
What the job involves
Collecting food, grocery or parcel orders from a restaurant, shop or hub and delivering them to customers within the promised time, using the employer's app to accept orders, follow the route and confirm each delivery; handling cash-on-delivery where it applies and reconciling it at the end of the shift; checking the bike or van each day (fuel, tyres, lights) and reporting damage or faults; and following UAE traffic rules, tolls (Salik) and parking rules on every run. Food riders work peak lunch and dinner hours, parcel drivers work set routes — both involve long hours outdoors in Gulf heat, which is why the package details below matter.
What your total package usually includes
Beyond the basic salary, Gulf offers commonly include some of:
| Part of the package | What offers commonly include |
|---|---|
| Housing | Housing or a housing allowance |
| Transport | Transport to the work site |
| Overtime | Overtime (ask the rate before signing) |
| Medical | Medical insurance |
| Air ticket | A return air ticket every 1–2 years |
Two offers with the same salary can be worth very different amounts once these are counted — compare the full package, not just the headline figure.
How to get this job safely
1) Use only a licensed agent or apply to the company directly. 2) Verify the job and the agent before paying anything (guide below). 3) Get the salary, overtime rate and accommodation written into your contract. 4) Never hand your original passport to an unlicensed person.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some delivery ads promise AED 5,000 to AED 8,000 a month?
Those figures usually come from own-visa, own-car per-shipment models, supervisor roles, or busy-month totals that assume a very high number of deliveries. They are not a fixed first salary. Before accepting, ask what part is fixed basic pay, what part is per-order commission, and what you must pay yourself for the vehicle, fuel and visa — then compare that with a fixed AED 2,500–3,500 offer with the bike or van, fuel and accommodation provided.
Will Talabat, Noon or Deliveroo employ me directly?
Usually not. Most riders and many parcel drivers are hired by a fleet company or third-party logistics (3PL) partner that supplies riders to the platforms. That structure is normal in the UAE, but your legal employer is the partner named in your contract — check that it is a real, registered business, that your visa and labour card are issued in its name, and never pay an individual recruiter for the job.
What licence do I need for delivery work in the UAE?
A UAE licence for the vehicle: a motorcycle licence for delivery bikes, or a UAE light-vehicle licence for vans and cars. A home-country licence by itself does not let you work as a delivery rider or driver in the UAE — most Pakistani and Indian riders must take lessons and pass the UAE test, so ask whether the employer helps with the licence cost and how long it takes before you can start earning.
Is accommodation included for delivery drivers in the UAE?
Often, yes — both GulfTalent delivery advertisements we reviewed included shared accommodation, and one also included transport and duty meals. Where housing is not provided, a Dubai bedspace can take a large share of a rider's pay, so an offer with accommodation can be worth more than a slightly higher salary without it.
