Salary by segment — the part most websites hide

A single "average salary" for this job would mislead you. What you are actually offered depends mostly on experience and on the welding process and certification the job needs — TIG and 6G pipe work pays more than general structural work, and oil & gas project work pays more than general workshop work:

SegmentMonthly salaryNote
New arrival — general and structural welder offers (arc, MIG, 3G/4G)SAR 1,500 – 2,000 / monthDocumented in recruitment advertisements reviewed Oct 2026, including a current 3G/4G structural offer at SAR 1,700 and an official BEOE TIG listing for Riyadh at SAR 1,800–2,000 with accommodation, food and transport provided

What the job involves

Joining and repairing metal parts using arc (SMAW), MIG and TIG welding processes; preparing, cutting and fitting steel, pipe and structural sections; reading drawings and following the approved welding procedure (WPS); checking finished welds for defects and repairing them; and working to strict site safety rules with protective equipment. Pipe and pressure work, and welds that must pass X-ray (radiography) testing, are the best-paid parts of this trade.

What your total package usually includes

Beyond the basic salary, Gulf offers commonly include some of:

Part of the packageWhat offers commonly include
HousingHousing or a housing allowance
TransportTransport to the work site

Air ticketA return air ticket every 1–2 years

Two offers with the same salary can be worth very different amounts once these are counted — compare the full package, not just the headline figure.

How to get this job safely

1) Use only a licensed agent or apply to the company directly. 2) Verify the job and the agent before paying anything (guide below). 3) Get the salary, overtime rate and accommodation written into your contract. 4) Never hand your original passport to an unlicensed person.

Stay safe: A real job never requires paying an unlicensed agent. In Pakistan, only use a licensed Overseas Employment Promoter (OEP), check the job on the BEOE portal, and remember the licensed agent's service charge is capped at Rs 15,000 — paid through a bank and released only after you join the job. Ground check: Offer ranges on this page come from the live sources listed above, checked October 2026. Our team works in the Gulf and re-checks these pages regularly — if an employer offered you something very different, tell us so we can investigate and update.

Frequently asked questions

Why do some websites say Saudi welders earn SAR 5,000 or more?

Those figures usually describe certified 6G pipe welders on oil and gas projects, welding inspectors, foremen, or modelled averages that mix every level together. Current advertisements for new arrivals cluster around SAR 1,800–2,500. A certified 6G welder with Gulf project experience can earn well above that — but planning your first contract on a specialist figure is how workers get disappointed.

Is accommodation included for welders in Saudi Arabia?

Often, yes on project work — many of the oil and gas and construction offers we reviewed included shared accommodation, food and transport, and the official BEOE listing we checked included them too. Some general workshop offers do not, so check which parts your own offer includes before you judge the salary.

How can I get a better welder salary in Saudi Arabia?

The process you weld with decides your pay more than almost anything else: TIG (GTAW) and 6G pipe skills pay more than general arc work, a trade-test or certification you can prove helps, and welds that pass radiography testing are what oil and gas projects pay a premium for. Gulf experience on recognised projects raises offers at the next contract.
