Salary by segment — the part most websites hide
A single "average salary" for this job would mislead you. What you are actually offered depends mostly on experience and on company type — a direct company almost always pays more than a supply (manpower) company for the same work:
| Segment | Monthly salary | Note |
|---|---|---|
| New arrival — supply / manpower company offers | SAR 1,600 – 2,000 / month | Documented in a current Riyadh multi-service company advertisement, checked Oct 2026; accommodation and transport were provided in that offer |
| Skilled plumber offers (1–5 years, maintenance and mall work) | SAR 1,800 – 2,300 / month | Documented across multiple current Saudi plumber advertisements reviewed Oct 2026; the top of the range needs proven experience |
| Market figure, all experience levels | ~SAR 3,214 / month average (reported range SAR 2,000 – 6,000) | Naukrigulf reported salaries based on 224 salaries — includes experienced and direct-company plumbers; do not expect this as a first offer |
What the job involves
Installing and repairing water supply, drainage and sanitary systems in homes, buildings and sites; fitting pipes and fixtures such as sinks, toilets and water heaters; finding and fixing leaks and blockages; and reading simple plumbing drawings. Experience with PPR, PVC and copper work, pumps, and wider MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) site work is what employers pay more for.
What your total package usually includes
Beyond the basic salary, Gulf offers commonly include some of:
| Part of the package | What offers commonly include |
|---|---|
| Housing | Housing or a housing allowance |
| Transport | Transport to the work site |
| Overtime | Overtime (ask the rate before signing) |
| Medical | Medical insurance |
| Air ticket | A return air ticket every 1–2 years |
Two offers with the same salary can be worth very different amounts once these are counted — compare the full package, not just the headline figure.
How to get this job safely
1) Use only a licensed agent or apply to the company directly. 2) Verify the job and the agent before paying anything (guide below). 3) Get the salary, overtime rate and accommodation written into your contract. 4) Never hand your original passport to an unlicensed person.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some websites say Saudi plumbers earn SAR 5,000 or more?
Those figures usually describe experienced, senior or direct-company plumbers, or modelled averages that mix every level together. Current advertisements for new arrivals cluster around SAR 1,800–2,200. Senior plumbers and foremen can earn well above that — but planning your first contract on a senior figure is how workers get disappointed.
Is accommodation included for plumbers in Saudi Arabia?
Often, yes — many of the advertisements we reviewed included shared accommodation and transport, or allowances instead. Check which one your offer includes, and whether food is provided, because that changes what you can save each month by several hundred riyals.
How can I get a better plumber salary in Saudi Arabia?
Offers rise with Gulf experience, the ability to read drawings, pipe-fitting skills alongside plumbing, and passing the employer's trade test. Maintenance experience in malls, hotels or facilities — where you fix problems fast without supervision — is especially valued.
