Sommerman Skinner Associates (SSA Limited) is recruiting a Construction Manager in Dubai for a leading UAE civil and infrastructure contractor. Reporting to the Project Manager, the manager runs day-to-day site operations for civil and infrastructure works — highways, road networks, airport runways, bridges and tunnels — directing foremen, site teams and subcontractors on a hands-on, site-based role.
What the role involves
- Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and method statements
- Direct foremen, site teams and subcontractors, setting clear priorities and coordinating activities across work fronts
- Translate the project programme into practical daily and weekly work plans, monitor progress and address delays in coordination with the Project Manager
- Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractor requirements, ensuring resources are available and used effectively
- Work with engineering and survey teams to resolve site queries, confirm work requirements and ensure teams use current approved information
- Enforce site HSE requirements and coordinate with HSE and QA/QC teams to ensure safe working practices, required inspections and timely correction of defects
- Monitor subcontractor progress, workmanship and productivity, resolving site coordination issues and escalating concerns where required
- Provide the Project Manager with accurate progress updates, resource requirements and details of site constraints, supporting completion and handover of works
