Sommerman Skinner Associates (SSA Limited) is hiring a Procurement Director in Dubai for a leading UAE civil and infrastructure contractor. Based at the head office, the director leads the procurement function across the business, covering materials, plant and subcontract packages, supplier and subcontractor relationships, and commercial negotiations for major packages.
What the role involves
- Develop and implement procurement strategies across the business, aligning purchasing activities with project requirements, budgets and delivery programmes
- Lead and manage the procurement department, setting priorities, allocating resources and supporting team performance across multiple projects
- Oversee the sourcing, tendering, evaluation and procurement of materials, plant and subcontract packages
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors, assessing capability, capacity and performance
- Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms and supply agreements, securing commercially competitive arrangements
- Work closely with commercial, engineering and project teams to plan procurement requirements and manage long-lead items
- Oversee procurement procedures, approval processes and reporting, maintaining visibility of commitments, savings and supply chain risks
