Sommerman Skinner Associates (SSA Limited) is recruiting a Senior HSE Manager in Dubai for a leading UAE civil and infrastructure contractor. The manager oversees health, safety and environmental performance across multiple projects — highways, road networks, airport runways, bridges and tunnels — reporting to the HSE Director and managing HSE advisors on site.
What the role involves
- Oversee HSE performance across multiple projects, ensuring consistent implementation of group policies, project HSE plans and client requirements
- Manage and support HSE advisors, coordinating site coverage, setting priorities and reviewing performance and development needs
- Work with construction and engineering teams to assess project risks, review risk assessments and method statements, and ensure effective controls for high-risk activities
- Conduct and coordinate site inspections and audits, identify areas for improvement and ensure corrective actions are completed and verified
- Maintain project compliance with applicable UAE legislation, authority requirements, client standards and the group's HSE management systems
- Manage incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes and ensure corrective actions and lessons learned are communicated across project teams
- Coordinate HSE training, briefings and awareness initiatives, supporting supervisors and site teams in maintaining safe working practices
- Report HSE performance, significant risks and improvement actions to the HSE Director, working closely with project management teams and client representatives
Requirements noted by the source board
